How to Install
Installing our blinds is easier than you would expect, and you can ensure a great fit on your doors or windows even with minimal equipment and experience.
What You’ll Need:
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Box of Screws
- Drill Bits
- A Pencil
- Power Drill
Things to Remember Before Starting
- To prevent the drill from sliding when drilling into tiles, we highly recommend that you cover your drilling point with masking tape. This will help prevent damage from accidental drillings.
- When drilling into concrete, brick or plaster, we recommend using 8-gauge, 1-inch Phillips head screws and wall plugs. We also recommend that you use a 5.0mm diameter masonry drill bit.
- All our blinds come with detailed installation instructions that you can refer to as you go. If you need more information or assistance, feel free to get in touch with our team.
- Take your time installing your blinds, and don’t rush. This will make sure you do it correctly the first time around.
Aluminium Venetian Blinds
- Use the provided brackets as templates for marking your drill holes. Remember that brackets need to be placed 150mm in at each end of the blind. If your blind is longer than the standard size, then it will have additional brackets that you can place along the length of the blind.
- Drill the marked areas carefully and then screw the brackets into position.
- Grab the front of the blind and position it in front of the front bracket.
- While holding its rear, push the blind to ensure it hooks under the rear clip.
- Install the chain tensioner. You can also install the hold down clips that are provided with your blinds.
Ecowood & Timber Venetian Blinds
- Use the provided brackets as templates for marking your holes. Mark out two holes per bracket. Wider blinds also have centre support brackets that you need to place along the width of the blind.
- Drill the marked areas carefully, and screw the brackets into position.
- Open the hinged doors so that you can slide your blind into place. Close the hinged doors afterwards.
- Attach the pelmet over the top of the headbox using the provided clips.
Roller Blinds
- Use the provided brackets as a template for marking your drill holes. Take extra care to make sure that the brackets are level. This will ensure that the blinds will roll up evenly.
- Drill the holes in the marked areas, and screw the brackets into position.
- Secure the roller blind into the bracket by clipping it into place. Make sure that the opposite side of the chain is clipped in first and then clip in the chain side afterwards.
- Attach the looped chain to the wall using the chain tensioner provided. This is required by law. If you prefer, you can also install chain stoppers on your chain to mark your up and down blind positions.
- Secure your roller blind into its bracket by clipping the blind into place. Make sure to clip the side opposite the chain first before clipping in the chain side.
Roman Blinds
- Use the provided brackets as templates for marking your drill holes.
- Face fix blind brackets need to be attached to the wall at 150mm in from each end. Recess blinds can simply be drilled up straight through the head rail and into the top of the recess.
- Install the blinds above the brackets.
Panel Glides
- Use the provided brackets as templates for marking your drill holes. Position the brackets at the end of the blind at 150mm in. Keep in mind that longer blinds will have additional brackets that you need to place equally along the length of the track.
- Drill the marked areas carefully and then screw in the bracket.
- Clip the track into place.
- Unfold each fabric panel separately to make sure that you attach each glide rail with the Velcro.
